Week 19

19 weeks people!!  We are only 21 weeks away!!  Yeah I know, that's 147 days but still!  We are a week away from half way!  I can't believe how fast time is going by!  It's just AHH-MAAAZING (if you know my little cousin Zoe then you know why AHH-MAAAAZING is funny!)  I'm really excited about the second half of my pregnancy, well..with the exception of choosing THE PERFECT bedding!  I know, bedding?!  This really is giving me a headache.  I mean, I do know that he is only going to be a baby for a short time and some say to keep that in mind, HOWEVER, this is our FIRST baby!!  I think everything has to be completely and totally perfect for Baby Boy Hines, at least I am going to try to make it that way!  Speaking of things being perfect.  We went and registered at Target on Saturday!  That was fun/overwhelming.  When you register for wedding gifts it's fun because it's stuff you want more than you need.  Uh, yeah...registering for baby stuff is totally different.  We took it isle by isle.  I guess we'll learn as we go the things we need and the things we just want.  I like knowing as much as I can beforehand but pregnancy is definitely teaching me things like patients and just trusting in God to get us through this!  I just know once we pick out bedding that we both agree on though the rest should be pretty easy!  :)

This week HE (so glad it finally turned into a HE) is the size of a mango!!  Sounds yummy!!

This is a very important time in terms of sensory development.  Inside your baby's brain, certain areas are being specialized for smell, touch, taste, hearing and vision.  Another big development in the last week, hair may finally be sprouting from his scalp!!  A greasy white substance made of lanugo, oil and dead skin cells (ew) which is called vernix caseosa now coats baby's skin, shielding it from the amniotic fluid. Imagine taking a bath for 9 months straight...I guess it kinda makes sense?!

Ok so now to complain for just a second...I feel very thankful that I have not had any major pregnancy symptoms other than just being really tired in the very beginning.  I never got sick.  I only felt a little queazy for like 3 days and that was nothing that a handful of saltines couldn't cure.  I mean, I think I've had a great pregnancy so far!  With that being said, did you know that your mouth can get all jacked up while pregnant?  Like your gums??  I had to have a little bit of dental work done before we ever knew about BBH.  Now, my gums are so messed up!!  They hurt all the time seems like.  Even when I haven't had anything to eat.  I just wanted to vent about that.  Like right now, they are throbbing!  They are so irritated and inflamed!  UGH!!  OUCH!!  Hopefully a little warm salt water will help out. Anyhoo...that's that.   :)
