Week 20: Half Way!!!

20 weeks down, 20 weeks to go!  Before I share what BBH is up to this week, I don't think I ever shared these two photos of Curt's reaction when I told him we were going to have a baby!  They're pretty funny... 

Dec 7:  Surprise!  We are having a baby!!

It definitely took Curt a minute to process what he just heard!

I can not believe we are half way through this journey!  The first half has gone by so quickly I can't even imagine what the next 20 weeks is going to be like.  This week we are the size of a cantaloupe.

BBH's digestive system is busy creating meconium (a tarry black substance made of swallowed amniotic fluid, digestive secretion and dead cells), which will fill the first diaper after birth.  And, speaking of the diaper situation...BBH's genitals are now fully formed!  Already a little man!!  :)  He can also hear sounds (did you see my awesome music belt??).  At 20 weeks, he can cover his ears with his hands if the sounds are too loud and he may even "jump" if any sounds startle him.  He is also moving around a lot.  Many times, these first movements are described as a flutter, or may feel like bubbles or gas and the more I can feel him moving and shifting I might be able to be aware of his sleep cycles.

I have started buying a few things and it is so much fun!  Wednesday my mom and I are going to the New 2 U Consignment sale and since I'm a new mom to be we get to shop before it opens to the public!!  Our furniture has been ordered!!  We love it!  I'm pretty sure we are going with my choice on the bedding!!!  Thanks to everyone who left us a comment!  After Curt read them he very matter of a factly said, ok so we'll just go with Tall Tales then!  :)  Our friends Todd and LeAnna Hill found out Saturday that they are having a baby girl!!!  We are super excited for them and how cute are these two babies going to look together?!?!?!  I'm sure LeAnna and I will have lots of photo shoots planned between the two of us!!  Things are really starting to come together and we are just enjoying every moment of it!!
